The Renovation
The exhibits in The New York City Police Museum honor the brave men and women who have served selflessly, placing their responsibility to the City before all other matters.

Now celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Museum is undertaking one of its most important projects to date – the restoration of the “Hall of Heroes” exhibit. No exhibit is more sacred than the Hall of Heroes, a memorial that commemorates those officers who have given “the last full measure of devotion beyond the call of duty” while fulfilling their sworn obligation to protect and serve their city. Just as these police officers clearly saw their duty, it is now our duty to ensure these heroes are remembered and honored by generations to come.

The prestigious architecture firm Perkins+Will has generously donated their design services and conceived a memorial that offers areas for quiet, contemplative reflection while perpetuating the memory of those officers who left us too soon.

The new Hall of Heroes will open in 2011, and each shield placed in honor of a fallen officer reminds us of the bravery and dedication it takes to be one of New York’s Finest.
